The health organizations have recognized walking to be the best exercise one can do. However, after taking different routes, walking with different friends, or setting different goals, we become bored! How can we keep motivated and keep our body moving?

Katherine Dryer is the co-founder of ChiWalking which really puts a person in touch with their body giving them a mental and physical workout. ChiWalking uses tai chi principles and teaches us how to focus the mind to direct the movements. Instead of letting your mind wander, you pay attention to your movements. If you notice that your shoulders are stiff, you concentrate on letting them relax. If you notice, you are holding your breath, you focus on inhaling and exhaling. You start to notice where your body is holding tension and you make the adjustment. With practice your whole body begins to relax. Nothing becomes more important than the moment you are in and you look forward to the next time you can achieve this state of tranquility.

Regardless of the type of walking you want to do, it must be done with good posture, a slight lean forward, joints loose, and arms and legs relaxed. The purpose is to create balance throughout your body. When you choose to walk regularly, your balance will improve and you will be able to walk further with less effort.

The most important equipment that you will need for your walk is shoes. Walking in poorly designed shoes can negate your efforts of the exercise and cause injury. You can find a large selection of good walking shoes at the Walkers Warehouse.

While it is difficult to find a product that doesn’t have one or more of these chemicals, you should be aware of what you are using. Start a campaign to get these chemicals out of consumable products.•	TEA = Triethanolamine—often used in products to adjust the pH.Can be toxic if absorbed into the body over time. Allergic reactions may include dry skin and hair and eye problems.•	Propylene Glycol – This cheap synthetic petro is used as a base in creams and lotions to make your skin look smooth. Ultimately, this ages the skin. When absorbed in the skin, it causes skin irritation, and liver and kidney damage.•	Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) – This is used as an engine and garage floor cleaner!! You will find this in shampoo, soap, and facial cleansers. SLS can corrode hair follicles which will inhibit hair growth and hair loss. SLS is a mutagen which is capable of changing cell membranes and the genetic material in your cells and organs. Over time, it can be absorbed into your circulation and concentrate in your heart, liver, brain and other organs.•	Parabens (Propyl, Methyl, Butyl, or Ethyl) – These are used to inhibit microbial growth in the products even though they are known to be highly toxic.•	Imidazolidinyl and Diazolidinyl Urea – These are the most commonly used preservative next to the parabens. They release formaldehyde which is toxic.•	Mineral Oil – This cheap, petroleum-based oil clogs the skin’s pores and enlarges them causing poor, saggy skin. (Remember, we use to use this in the days when sun bathing was “in” to get a better tan! Not to mention on our newborn babies.)•	Synthetic Colors – Should be avoided at all cost with the exception of some henna products. They can cause allergy, skin and nerve problems. The synthetic colors will be labeled as FD&C or D&C with a number and color.•	Fragrance – These are very cheap, toxic imitations of real herbal scents usually made from over 200 synthetic chemicals. When accumulated in the body can cause a myriad of symptoms: headaches, lung problems, skin irritation, dizziness, memory impairment, rash, hyperpigmentation, vomiting, potential brain damage and more.

MUSIC FOR ME AND MY PETS

Have you been looking for ways to comfort your pets while you are away? I have a couple of parrots who are spoiled rotten! I worry if they will miss me while I am away from home so I look for entertainment for them (Sesame Street). I think I found a winner in "Pet Music"!

I have checked several websites and played their sample new age music that I thought Honey and Ruby would like. Well, as soon as I played "Music Birds Love" , Honey (my cockatoo) stopped what she was doing and slowly walked closer to the computer and carefully tilted her head so that she could embrace the full sound. As soon as the clip was done, she bobbed up and down and began to sing at the top of her lungs--I think she liked what she heard. I liked the dog and cat music too. I think I am going to try some of this music in my massage room. The music is quite nice and relaxing (unless Honey is nearby).

I had no experience in web design and have managed to do this myself and now have taken on the task of blogging. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the great aids and technical support that GoDaddy gave me. I have attached a banner below for those of you who have asked me how I created my website.

<img src="http://www.tqlkg.com/image-3467057-10386906" width="468" height="60" alt="GoDaddy.com Hosting & Well, I have decided that I would like a different kind of blogging software.
